Abstract: Records of the initiative coming from the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR to create a republican administrative department responsible for use of the deep heat of the Earth in Ukraine at the end of 80s of the 20th century, which is supposed to coordinate the efforts of various departments on exploration and exploitation of geothermal energy.
