Abstract: The article is devoted to substantiating the productivity of the Ukrainian language as a language of science. It is argued that the Ukrainian language has not yet got a worthy recognition as a means of scientific communication. It is shown that research of the scientificity potential of the Ukrainian language has been focused on identifying interconnections between scientific, conceptual and linguistic pictures of the reality, occurring within the interdisciplinary and philosophical methodological paradigm; these interconnections determine objective-scientific and national-marked components of scientific knowledge. It is emphasized that the scientific knowledge is marked with national-cultural and mental features when conceptualized and materialized in the language. It is argued that a scientific idea as a conception loses its authenticity when converted (materialized) into the language at the stage of conceptualization, with the degree of correspondence between concepts and their verbal expression, on the one hand, and scientific concepts, on other, depending on the culture of the subject’s thinking and the scientificity potential of the lexicon. The mutual understanding between scientists originating from different linguistic cultures is due to the universal semantics of categories, scientific concepts, terms; this semantics plays the role of internationalisms formed by the general scientific way of comprehending the reality (i. e. by the logic of thinking) and being an immanent feature of a human. The regularity of the lexical non-equivalence of the Ukrainian language with respect to English-language scientific terms is demonstrated. It is concluded that the Ukrainian language, being not inferior to many world languages in its potential for a scientific reconstruction of the reality, should occupy a worthy place in both the domestic and global research space. The above theses can provide a methodological guideline for Ukrainian researchers in determining information sources and conceptual-linguistic means for building a scientific picture of the reality.
