Abstract: The 597 acts of awarding 950 Nobel Prize winners (including the Prize in Economic Sciences) in various nominations during 1901—2019 were analyzed in order to identify trends and specifics of authors’ integration and differentiation in top researches. It is determined a steady tendency to increasing the team approach to research (research collectivization) in the fields of Physics, Chemistry, Physiology and Medicine, Economic Sciences as opposed to individual approach that was at the initial stage of awarding the Prize. It is argued that the integration of research activities in modern conditions naturally ensures stronger competitiveness of results in the search for objective truth, given the status of the Prize as an indicator of the greatest world achievements. At the same time, globalization, which contributes to the consolidation of disparate research, is not, by itself, a decisive factor of integration benefits in producing objective knowledge, since it retains the individual character of activity in the case of the creation of literary images through their inherent subjectivity. The dissemination of multi-authorship in cutting-edge research has been confirmed by publications in the well-known, highly cited multidisciplinary journal “Nature” with an impact factor 43 as well as this periodical’ editorial policy concerning authors. The strengthening of the role of research collectivization (team approach) was also reflected in the introduction of a crosscutting key criterion for international joint authorship in the academic subjects’ version of the most objective and authoritative ranking of world-class Universities (ARWU). Therefore, it is advisable to motivate, and support research activities based on team approach, to create conditions for the consolidation of scientific groups and teams in order to ensure the top research achievements.
Keywords: authors’ integration and differentiation in research, Nobel Prize, individual and collective laureates, multi-authorship, tendency to enhancement of research activities integration.
